Due to the continuous growth of our Service Centre, we are now looking to appoint a Trainee Service Engineer to join our company.

About the role:

Due to the continuous growth of our Service Centre, we are now looking to appoint a Trainee Service Engineer to join our company, working 39 hours, Monday to Friday. As Trainee Service Engineer, your primary focus will involve learning and mastering the service and repair of robotics, crawlers, cameras, and related equipment, including routine maintenance of machinery and the plant. With dedicated product training and on-the-job support, you will develop the skills to deliver industry-leading service and support, fostering strong relationships with customers and suppliers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and perform troubleshooting, maintenance, service, and repair of designated equipment used for sewer and water infrastructure inspection and repair, including robotic and remote crawlers, cameras, light heads, and other related equipment.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of repairs and equipment.
  • Contribute to the Hire department by conducting inspections, repairs and servicing of all hire equipment. 
  • Travel to customer sites, both domestically and internationally, as required by the company.
  • Assist with plant maintenance, keeping schedules and records of repairs, modifications, lighting, emergency light checks, factory maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
  • Contribute to the effective manufacture, assembly, and packing of all current and future company products to a high standard.
  • Ensure quality in the service, repair, manufacture, and assembly of all company and customer products.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, sharing ideas and skills.

Requirements:

  • Recent electrical and/or mechanical (maintenance) experience with relevant qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship in a relevant area
  • Good eye for detail and ability to follow manufacturer and company instructions/procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organized and accurate in your work.
  • Proficient in IT skills and good record-keeping practices.
  • A team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Possession of a valid passport & full driving licence is essential.

  • Hours – 39 hours per week (08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Thursday, 08.30 to 16.00 Friday). Flexibility is essential to meet business needs.
